Baltimore artist Betty Cooke, owner of The Store Ltd at Cross Keys, dies at 100

It is with deepest sadness that we share with you that the legendary Betty Cooke passed peacefully on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at the age of 100.

For those who didn’t have the privilege of knowing her, Betty was a true icon in the world of jewelry design and art and she created a legacy that will live long beyond her time with us. Her boutique, The Store Ltd., was an original tenant at Jim Rouse’s Cross Keys, starting in 1965, and has remained to this day.

The remaining pieces of Betty’s work, as well as all of the merchandise at The Store Ltd., will be available for purchase as her team begins to wind down operations. Please be thoughtful to them, as they will be going through a difficult time themselves.

Our most sincere condolences go out to all who loved and admired our dear Betty. She will be missed and Cross Keys will never be the same without her.

Information regarding services should be forthcoming. We will post the details once we have them. Please feel free to share thoughtful condolences and memories in the replies. Thank you!
